My name is Christiana Barlow and I am from Falls Church, VA. I am a junior double majoring in Accounting and Information Systems: Audit and Finance. I’ve served as
Fundraising Chair in the Filipino American Student Association here at Tech and in my spare time, I enjoy singing, playing the guitar, and doing puzzles. I have always loved numbers and one day, I plan on having my own CPA firm. I am very excited to be a part of the Leadership Academy and I can’t wait to utilize the academy’s tools to jump start my accounting career and to become a more influential leader.
My name is Spencer Chrisman and I am sophomore from Haymarket, Virginia. I am pursuing a double major in Business Information Technology and Finance. Currently, I am the Events Coordinator for the Finance Club as well as an active member in Virginia Tech community by participating in events such as The Big Event and Relay for Life. Outside of school I enjoy hiking, running, and hanging out with friends.
Genna Coan, from Herndon, VA, is a sophomore pursuing a degree in Accounting and Information Systems with plans to take the CPA exam after graduation. Genna is passionate about giving back to her community and living out Virginia Tech’s motto Ut Prosim. She participates in The Big Event, Relay for Life, and volunteers with the local Habitat for Humanity. Genna also likes to stay active, playing intramural soccer and running in her free time. She is training to run the Marine Corps Marathon in October 2017.
Connor Edwards, from Smithfield, Virginia, is a senior pursuing a dual degree at Virginia Tech majoring in Accounting and Information Systems within the Pamplin College of Business and Agribusiness Management within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. During her time at Virginia Tech, she has served as the Big/Little Chair and Secretary for the Virginia Tech Equestrian Club. She participated in the CALS Mentorship Program during the 2016-2017 academic year and is a member of Gamma Sigma Delta – The Honor Society of Agriculture. Her hobbies include antique tractor pulling with Central Virginia Antique Tractor Pulling Association and horseback riding. She has participated in externships with The Capital Group, Cherry Bekaert, and Mitchell Wiggins & Company, as well as internships with Smithfield Foods and Helena Chemical Company.
Isabel Galante, from Blacksburg, VA, will be a sophomore Accounting and History double major. She has been a Hokie for a long time now and really enjoys working with others from different backgrounds. With an interest in communication and problem solving, she is looking forward to improving her leadership skills by being a part of the Pamplin Leadership Academy.
Rehan Ghani is a Junior studying Finance and BIT. He is from Centreville, Virginia. Rehan is a firm believer in experiential learning, and saw The Pamplin Leadership Academy as a great opportunity to further his knowledge in leadership and business through application of the skills he has learned in the classroom thus far. On campus, Rehan is a technology analyst in The Student-Managed Endowment for Educational Development (SEED), as well as Logistics Chair in the Pamplin Multicultural Diversity Council (PMDC).
Calli Hile, from Lovettsville, VA, is a junior Management and Marketing double major. She is currently the President of the Society for Human Resource Management at Virginia Tech, as well as Service Co-Chair of Epsilon Sigma Alpha co-ed Service Fraternity. Calli is also very involved in the community and participates in Big Event, Relay for Life, food drives for Micah’s Backpack, and dog walking at the local animal shelter. She hopes to pursue a career in Human Resources.
Madison Jones, from Ashburn, Virginia, is a senior pursuing a degree in Psychology and minoring in both Business and Business Leadership. She is incredibly passionate about being involved with her community and carrying out Virginia Tech’s motto of “Ut Prosim.” Besides volunteering, Madison’s interests include running, alpine skiing, traveling, and photography.
Ryan Kelly, from Mahopac, NY, is a senior at Virginia Tech, pursuing a degree in Accounting. Ryan has held two summer positions in accounting, which have reinforced his interest in the field and desire to obtain his CPA. Ryan is an active member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and has volunteered at the local YMCA Thrift Store, as well as lending his time and support to various philanthropic causes. He enjoys everything Blacksburg and Virginia Tech have to offer, and is looking forward to the opportunity to expand upon his leadership skills.
Jennifer Lee, from Ashburn, Virginia, is a sophomore majoring in Business Information Technology with a concentration of Decision Support Systems. She has many passions in which she strives to do her best in. One of her passions includes dancing in which she is heavily involved in a hip-hop dance team, Bamboom Dance Team, where they locally compete with other college hip-hop dance teams and perform on various campus events. She was also involved in Pamplin’s Undergraduate Mentoring Program to help ease her into her first year in college. She loves take risks and challenge herself by taking the opportunities that are given to her at Virginia Tech. By the time she graduates, she hopes she can pursue her interests in the business field.
Katie McClintock, from Fairfax, VA is a sophomore majoring in Business Information Technology with a concentration in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Her involvement includes being a member of Collegiate Women in Business. She is also involved with New Student Programs as a Hokie Camp leader, and is passionate about teaching new Hokies what Virginia Tech is all about. She participated in The Big Event, Relay for Life, and loves service and trying new things. Business leadership is something she hopes to learn more about and is excited to be a part of the program.
Daiana Merida, from Annandale, VA is double majoring in Business Economics and International Studies. Originally from Argentina, Daiana enjoys learning about other cultures and their languages as well. In her spare time, Daiana loves running, painting. hiking and giving back to her community. In the near future, Daiana hopes to help developing countries around the world socially and economically. Under Pamplin’s Leadership Academy, she is determined to improve her leadership skills in order reach this goal.
Leonardo O’Gilvie (better known as Leo,) from Kingston, Jamaica, is a junior pursuing a double major in Marketing, and Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology. He is also pursuing a double minor in Business Leadership, and Entrepreneurship – New Venture Growth, with the hopes of finishing with two separate honors designated diplomas. Whenever he gets the chance Leo very much enjoys catching up on his sleep, however beyond that, he can also be found playing the ukulele, taking photographs, or even practicing DJing as a way to relax.
Willow Pedersen is a sophomore Accounting and Information Systems major. She enjoys being a member of Rotaract, the college level of global service organization Rotary International; Horn Ensemble, an all French horn musical group; and Chamber Singers, a faculty-led choir in which she traveled to perform at Carnegie Hall in Spring 2017. In the 2017-2018 year, Willow will serve as a Pamplin College of Business representative on the Honors College Council, as Vice President of the Honors Residential Commons (HRC) Council, and as an Apartment Fellow in the HRC.
My name is Michael Resnick and I am a junior majoring in accounting and finance. After graduating in May of 2018, I will sit for the CPA exams. During my time at Tech, I have been able to serve as VP of Hospitality for the Pamplin Leadership Development Team, a student organization that hosts a conference in the spring. I also coach students at the Writing Center on assignments ranging from research papers, cover letters, and theses. Outside of school, I enjoy fitness, reading, and music.
My name is Alyssa Rhee and I’m a rising senior here at Virginia Tech from Leesburg, Virginia. Currently, I am pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Accounting with minors in International Business and Business Leadership. I am a founding member of Sigma Omega Upsilon International Business Fraternity and have held positions within the organization including Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board. I am sincerely looking forward to participating in the 2017-2018 Leadership Academy and am excited to have the opportunity to grow and further develop my skills as a leader!
Olivia Seksinsky is a senior double majoring in Business Management and International Studies with a minor in International Business. She is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina but loves calling Blacksburg her home for nine months every year. Olivia is a Resident Advisor on campus and an ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Studies. She is also a Hokie Ambassador and can be seen around campus giving tours. She always strives to be a leader on campus and off and will continue to do so following her graduation in May 2018.
Stephen Snyder, from Wake Forest, NC, is a junior pursuing an Honors degree in Accounting and Information Systems. He plans to stay on at VT to earn his Masters degree with a concentration in audit. He is a member of the business fraternity Beta Alpha Psi, and is working to establish a new business group that connects students to employers in Raleigh, North Carolina. This summer (2017), he will be interning at Cherry Bekaert LLP. After graduation, Stephen plans to work in public accounting. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys participating in numerous intramural sports and other campus events. Stephen also enjoys traveling and participating in his church’s overseas mission trips.
Jenny Soto, from Falls Church, Virginia, is a Junior majoring in Business Information Technology focusing on Operation Supply Chain Management and minoring in Business Leadership. She has been a part of the Pamplin Undergraduate Mentoring Program (PUMP), Financial Chair for the Latino Association of Student Organizations (LASO) and is a part of the Pamplin Leadership Development Team. In her spare time, Jenny loves to explore and take pictures to capture moments in her life. Jenny strives to continue to get involved around the campus and will graduate in December 2018.
Grant Toeneboehn, from Fulton MD, is a senior Business Information Technology and Finance double major. Throughout his time at Virginia Tech, he has held numerous leadership positions within the Corps of Cadets, the Consulting Group and Resident Hall Federation. Grant is currently conducting undergraduate research through the BIT department and is interested in perusing a career in data analytics.

Alexander Bahrami, from Sterling, VA, is a junior pursuing a degree in Business Information Technology with a minor in International Business. Since his arrival at Virginia Tech, he has been involved in numerous organizations such as The Virginia Tech Men’s Lacrosse Team and The Consulting Group. Throughout his life, he has always loved holding leadership positions and leading others by example. He hopes to become a consultant after he graduates.
Alexandra Egan, from Richmond, VA, is a junior Accounting and Information Systems major. The spring semester of 2016, she was initiated into the professional coed business Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and wishes to promote professionalism and honor through the chapter. Outside of Pamplin, she serves as a delegate on the University Honor Council, for which she strives to educate the student body of enhancing integrity. This summer she will be pursuing an externship offer with Ernst & Young in Washington, D.C.
Will Humble, from Richmond, Virginia, is a junior pursuing a degree in Finance with a focus in investment management. His interests include golf, Virginia Tech football and BBQ ribs. Will is currently the Chief Financial Officer at The Pylon – a non-profit online journalism startup at Tech, and is returning to Apex Systems for a second summer to work as a Sourcing Specialist intern.
Nicole Johnston, from Christiansburg, VA is pursuing a masters in Marketing Management. Her leadership experience at Virginia Tech has been focused in University Honors where she serves as the Head of Project Merchandising and the Treasurer for University Honors Ambassadors.
Nicole is passionate about service and enjoys being involved and giving back to the community. This past summer, Nicole interned in Roanoke, VA for Cherry Bekaert LLP as an auditing intern where she was able to explore her interest in public accounting. Nicole will be pursuing a Masters of Science in Marketing at Virginia Tech beginning Spring of 2017.
William H. Xie, from Charlottesville, VA, is a senior pursuing a degree in Business Information Technology with a minor in Computer Science and Applied Busines Computation. During his time here he was very involved in the communities he was in. He is the Honors Residential College’s liaison to Residential College of West Amber Johnston, an executive member of the Entrepreneur Club of Virginia Tech, and a well-known member of the Virginia Tech Consulting Group.
